Fireworks: the law in town

The Town of Bluffton Code, Sec. 14-99 makes it unlawful “to fire, shoot, discharge, offer for sale, store, exchange, give away or possess any fireworks within the corporate limits,” except as the article allows. The main exception is a public display, which needs a written permit from the town manager and the State Fire Marshal’s Office at least 30 days ahead (Sec. 14-98). Toy caps are allowed.

Town park rules ban fireworks at Wright Family Park, the Calhoun Street Dock, the New River Linear Trail and the pocket parks, and in all town parks except as Chapter 14 allows. Outside town limits, in unincorporated Beaufort County, different rules apply.
