About the parade

Before 2015, Post 205 marched each Veterans Day in the county parade in Beaufort, the post says on its parade page. As a Bluffton post, it held its own parade in Bluffton for the first time on Nov. 11, 2015, with help from the town’s police and fire departments. Since the 2018 parade, it has been held in the name of the Town of Bluffton and sponsored by Post 205. The town lists it among the events it supports.

Marching in the parade

The post says it will consider any group whose entry relates to veterans, is military-related or is patriotic. It posts sign-up details on its parade page, which still showed its 2022 instructions when we checked: units gathered on Pritchard Street at 9 a.m. to line up, with questions to the post adjutant at 843-304-1514.

Parking and road closures

The town has not posted 2026 closures. The parade runs through Old Town, so expect the route to be closed to traffic while it passes. In past years the post has put up no parking signs along the route two days ahead and handed flyers to residents and merchants on the route, its parade page says. Park away from Calhoun and Pritchard streets and walk in. Our getting around guide lists public parking in the Historic District.

Also on Veterans Day
